Cantor Michael Glozman
Cantor Michael Glozman joined Temple Israel in 2009. He was born in the Soviet Union to a musical family of violinists. He graduated as a Choir Conductor from the Moscow Academy of Choral Art. Michael made aliyah with his family.
From early childhood Michael performed on the world’s stages with great conductors and musicians. Along with his classical training, he has always been deeply involved in traditional Jewish music. Once he moved to Israel he worked with well known Israeli Cantors and trained as a Cantor at Tel Aviv Cantorial Institute. He also sang in the New Israeli Opera/ He has composed and arranged music for numerous plays on the Israeli stage.
Michael arrived in the United States in 2007 after accepting the position of Music Director/Cantor Sheini at B’nai Torah Congrgation in Boca Raton. Since becoming a part of Temple Israel’s family he has provided and developed a variety of programs and services. Combining musical styles, he shifts from traditional “old-fashioned” nussach a capella to light contemporary interpretations. He is continually exploring new musical renditions with his beautiful wide-ranging voice. Michael has a daughter, Yael, who is presently serving in the Israeli Defense Forces.
