Michael Orovitz*
Our new and “recycled” treasurer is Michael D. Orovitz. A graduate of the University of Miami (BBA), Michael spent his entire career with City National Bank of Florida, retiring in 2008 as Executive Vice President of the Private Banking Division. He has served as president of multiple organizations: our own Temple Israel of Greater Miami; North Shore Miami Beach Kiwanis Club; and Sustaining Board of Fellows of Mount Sinai Medical Center. Currently, he serves as Treasurer of the Jewish Museum of Florida and is a Life Trustee at Mount Sinai, as well as a Founder at the Hospital, Jewish Museum and Miami Jewish Health Systems. Married to the former Norma Achsen for 47 years (TI’s first female president), he is the father of three adult daughters (Judith Herzfeld, Lisa Pyott and Robin Orovitz) and six grandchildren (Hillel, Lena, Joshua, and Margo Herzfeld, Brynna Pyott and Riley Orovitz).
