Hebrew School Curriculum
Students interested in learning the Hebrew language, begin their study in the third or fourth grade. Definitive training for Bar/Bat Mitzvah ceremonies begins with the fourth grade. Hebrew instruction is held in various locations weekday afternoon or at Temple on Sunday following morning Religious School.
Level Alef
Introductory letter and vowel recognition; deciphering simple combinations of sounds; rudimentary study of liturgical prayer.
Level Bet
Intermediate Study I - Familiarity with basic Hebrew sight reading; elementary study of liturgical prayer.
Level Gimmel
Intermediate Study II - fluency in Hebrew sight-reading; intermediate study of liturgical prayer.
Level Daled
Advanced study - pre Bar/Bat Mitzvah preparation
