“No one person can change the whole world for the better, but each is needed. For each is a bit different—just as one leaf is different from the others on a tree, yet all are needed for its complete foliage.” - Paul K. Poulson

Dear Temple Israel Family,
As we approach our 100th year, we acknowledge our differences and celebrate what each of us brings to Temple Israel to make our congregation a complete whole. Temple Israel has known good times and difficult ones, but always demonstrated a resilience that has brought us to this point. In times such as these, we continue to provide spirituality, community, and learning with 21st-century technology:
- Regular prayer services on Friday nights and Saturday mornings
- All our youth activities from kindergarten to TIFTY
- Extended religious school and a virtual summer camp
- Torah Study at Joseph’s Table and Sisterhood’s First Mondays Book Club
- The sorrow of online shiva minyan and the joy of weekly Havdalah
We have learned that our temple is so much more than brick and mortar: it is memories, it is friendships, it is community, it is spirituality, it is learning, it is connections. So we ask you to reaffirm your commitment to our community. Without you, we could not sustain our programs and services ensuring that Temple Israel remains a vital center of Jewish learning for future generations.
As uncertain as these times appear to be, your recommitment and continued financial support of Temple Israel will serve to invigorate our temple community. Just as in past generations, we will meet the challenges, and, together, we will be strengthened by our purpose. Thank you for being a part of our family. We look forward to the time when we are once again praying together, studying together, and celebrating together...in less than six feet! The clergy, leadership, and staff of Temple Israel hope that you and your family are safe and well.
