Day 3

CAMP ANI-PO DAY 3 … JUST FLEW IN FROM ISRAEL AND BOY ARE MY ARMS TIRED!
It’s day three at Ani-Po and I can say I’ve never had such an easy trip to Israel and back. Security was a breeze and hardly needed luggage.
Today we brought Israel home with some special guest friends!
First Jazzie Morgan took us on a tour of the Shuk (Market) in Jerusalem. We saw all the amazing and different types of foods as well as met some of her friends that hang out and work in the market. Aiden then helped order a coffee (In Hebrew) from his computer all the way to Israel! Jazzie taught us about the Israeli Shekel and some useful Hebrew phrases:
yallah = let’s go
chabibi = friend
rak shniah= give me a second
shuk=market
From there we made our way to the Kotel (Wailing Wall or Western Wall) We learned about its history and importance to the Jewish people. If you want to visit the Kotel at any time go to https://english.thekotel.org/kotel/kotel_cameras/ for a live stream from the wall.
Finally, we were met by another friend Lotem Eilon who has worked for a number of years with NFTY and Camp Coleman teaching youth and adults about Israel. Lotem put our Israel knowledge to the test with Kahoot trivia and teaching us facts about Israel from its tallest mountain to its capital!
We packed in a whole lot of Israel in our small camp day! We can’t wait for tomorrow!
