What exactly is the Temple Israel Board of Trustees?
The Board of Trustees is comprised of the Executive Committee (Officers), elected Board Members at large (Board Members), all Past Presidents, leadership of auxiliary organizations, and Honorary Trustees, all of whom must be members of the Congregation. A term of office for all Board Members and Officers shall be two years (staggered).
What is expected?
Members of the Board of Trustees hold a fiduciary responsibility to the Temple to conduct and administer the affairs of the Congregation. Membership on the Board of Trustees is a leadership position of honor, responsibility, and obligation. Leaders are role models who exemplify Jewish values, support the mission of the Temple, are visible in congregational activities, attend monthly meetings, and serve on at least one committee.
What qualifications are needed?*
To serve as an elected Board Member, one must be Jewish, have been an active congregational member for at least two years.
To serve as an Officer, one must be Jewish and have served as a Board Member for at least one year.
